The Sponge Group is committed to ensuring digital accessibility, in accordance with the European Accessibility Act and to the WCAG 2.1 level AA guidelines. This Accessibility statement concerns spongelearning.com, spongecompliance.com and all of our learning solutions built from 2025 onwards.

Our commitment

Sponge takes the following measures to ensure the accessibility of the learning solutions:

  • Our learning solutions are designed to be usable with a keyboard, and we strive to ensure that all content is accessible to users with screen readers and other assistive technologies.
  • Our dedicated Quality Assurance team test each solution, against WWCAG 2.1 AA standards
  • We continually monitor and upgrade our accessibility support and commit to accessibility quality assurance methods
  • Our solutions support native browser zoom
  • We ensure that any video content includes both subtitles and a transcript

Known limitations

We are aware of some accessibility issues with our website [including the following screen reader limitations: menu can't be navigated easily, slider controls on the homepage, focus order on a small group of components]. We are working to address these issues and improve the overall accessibility of our website. We plan to correct these screen reader limitations by end of 2025.We are also aware of accessibility limitations with the following components of the Evolve Authoring platform - infographics, branching, hotgraphics. However Sponge have developed methods to overcome these limitations and make these components usable with screen readers and for increased font sizes. The following components on the Articulate Rise platform are not fully accessible and we make all efforts to make these accessible for screen readers given the limitations of the platform - sorting activity, matching knowledge checks, image carousels, drag and drop activities.
