Sponge shortlisted for LT Company of the Year award

Date:

The success story continues for digital learning company Sponge, with the announcement that the business is in the running for one of the industry’s most coveted awards.

Sponge is a finalist at the 2018 Learning Technologies Awards (LT Awards) in the highly competitive category of Learning Technologies Company of the Year. The winner will be announced at a gala evening at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London on 21 November 2018.

It caps a remarkable period for Sponge, which has grown to be one of the largest custom digital learning providers in Europe, while retaining its reputation for creativity and building strong customer relationships.

Founder and managing director, Louise Pasterfield, said: “I love seeing the difference we are making to our clients and the passion that our people bring to create outstanding learning experiences. It’s all down to working closely with clients, understanding their needs, and using creativity and innovation that engages, excites and informs learners. We are thrilled that this work is being recognised at the LT Awards.”

Sponge was founded in 2004 and has since grown to over 110 employees. Headquartered in Plymouth, the company also has offices in London, Dublin, Nottingham and most recently Bristol – the latter three all being opened in the past year.

The company is attracting top talent, as part of its continued growth plan with current recruitment across many areas of the business, including learning design, learning development, sales and marketing.

“I love seeing the difference we are making to our clients and the passion that our people bring to create outstanding learning experiences."

The shortlisting follows a string of other major industry awards recognising Sponge’s innovation in achieving results, including gold LT Awards for Best Use of Blended Learning with their client AXA in 2017 and Learning Technologies Designer of the Year in 2016 for Sponge’s Head of Innovation, Kate Pasterfield.

And the success story for Sponge is set to continue. In the next five years, Sponge plans to expand its team to 300 people and open new offices in the UK, Europe and USA.
