Find your voice
If your business could talk what would it sound like?
An odd question but it is worth considering before commissioning any kind of elearning. By voice, we don’t mean the vocal talents used to bring your elearning to life (although that can be important too) but finding the right tone and language that communicates your corporate message in the correct style.
It can be trickier than it first appears. Some organisations have put a lot of time, effort and money into making their external communications effective but, sometimes, overlook the importance of the tone of voice used with their own staff.
Getting it right can make all the difference when it comes to motivating and engaging staff, encouraging higher productivity, retaining talent – the list goes on.
Sponge has developed a simple but effective Tone of Voice Exercise for their clients to help pinpoint exactly how the company wants to come across to its staff in their elearning.
Whether it is informal or professional, traditional or modern – finding the right voice can pay dividends.
The Instructional Design team at Sponge guide clients through the process helping them choose the tone that best suits them.
In a recent example, a leading company used our tool to define a tone of voice which was modern and informal, simple to understand, warm and humble. This allowed Sponge to choose the most appropriate language, images, and content for the client’s elearning.
And with Sponge’s custom-made approach, businesses can be sure their voice is just that, their own.
